This project aimed to completely renovate the roofing system of a residential property to enhance its durability and weather resistance. This involved the removal of the existing, deteriorated roofing materials and the installation of new, high-quality components.

Scope of Work:

1. Roofing Material Removal:

   • Stripped off all the old wooden structures and roofing materials, including outdated OSB boards, worn-out roofing felt, and damaged slates.

2. Installation of New Roofing Substructure:

   • Replaced the old structure with new OSB boards, ensuring a solid foundation for the new roofing materials.

3. Felt and Battens:

   • Installed new roofing felt to provide a waterproof barrier.
   • Added new battens (laths) for attaching the roof tiles securely.

4. Tile Installation:

   • Laid new tiles across the roof, chosen for their durability and aesthetic appeal.

5. Dry Ridge System:

   • Implemented a new dry ridge system, enhancing the roof’s integrity and ventilation capabilities.

6. Edge Finishing:

   • Applied new rubber trims around the edges of the roof for improved sealing and finish.

7. Chimney Maintenance:

   • Pointed the chimney stack, restoring its structure and ensuring its safety and functionality.

Completion: The project successfully replaced the entire roofing system and revitalized the chimney stack, significantly improving the property's external durability and aesthetic. The new roofing materials and techniques used are expected to offer long-term protection against environmental elements, thereby securing the property’s value and safety.
