Chimney Restoration Project: Post-Storm Repairs

In this project, we were called to address severe damage to a chimney stack caused by recent storm conditions. The chimney had sustained significant structural wear, which required a comprehensive restoration effort.

First, we reduced the height of the chimney stack to ensure safety and stability. The old mortar between the bricks was carefully grinded out, allowing us to fully repoint the chimney with fresh mortar, ensuring it remains durable against future weather challenges. The top of the chimney was also expertly flaunched, creating a smooth, watertight finish that helps to protect the chimney from rainwater penetration.

We completed the project by repositioning all the lead work, which had been displaced during the storm. The lead was resealed to ensure proper water runoff and prevent leaks. This full restoration has not only improved the aesthetic appearance of the chimney but also fortified it against potential future storm damage.
